Reselling is arithmetic before it is anything else. Two numbers decide whether the business works, and getting them right on paper is quicker than discovering them from a year of invoices.
The renewal margin
What you charge on renewal, minus what you pay on renewal. This is the number the business runs on, because after the first year every customer is a renewal. Your cost is on the reseller plans page and in the price book in your dashboard.
The number of accounts before the plan is full
Disk divided by the package size, roughly, and always fewer than the arithmetic suggests because nobody fills their quota evenly. Work out what the plan costs per account at eighty per cent full, not at a hundred.
Two costs that are easy to forget
Domains are not hosting. If you register names for customers, that is a separate cost per name per year — the domain pricing page lists both the first year and the renewal for each extension.
Support is your time. A package priced with no allowance for it is priced as though customers never write to you, and the cheapest packages generate the most letters.
Should I match the cheapest host in the market?
Only if you can also match their cost base, which as a reseller you cannot — they are buying at wholesale volume and you are buying one plan. Compete on being reachable in Bengali on a Friday evening. That is worth more to a Bangladeshi small business than fifty taka a month, and it is not something a large host can copy.
How do I change prices for existing customers?
On renewal, with notice, and one package at a time. Repricing everybody at once turns a routine adjustment into a reason to shop around — and the invoice that lands without warning is the one that gets cancelled.
