Move a whole portfolio in one go.

Check the names you already own, then start their transfers together. Each one gains a year of registration as it moves, so nothing is lost by transferring.

Before you start

Unlock each name

Transfer lock is on by default at most registrars. Turn it off at the losing registrar first.

Get the codes

Each domain needs its own authorisation code, emailed to you by the registrar you are leaving.

A year is added

A transfer adds twelve months to whatever the name already had. You lose nothing by moving.

Nothing goes dark

The name resolves throughout. Copy your DNS records over before the transfer completes and nobody notices.

How long does a transfer take?

Five to seven days for most extensions, and it completes sooner if you approve the confirmation email rather than waiting for it to time out.

Can I transfer a name registered last week?

No. ICANN blocks a transfer within sixty days of registration or of a previous transfer. The name will be eligible after that.

What about .bd names?

BTCL handles those directly and does not use the same transfer protocol. Talk to support and we will tell you what BTCL needs.
