Extensions with extra requirements
Most names need nothing but payment. These ask for a local presence, a document, or both.

A .com needs nothing but payment. Some extensions are reserved for people or businesses connected to a place, and the registry checks — after the order, which is the part that surprises people.
Country extensions we sell that ask for more
.bd and .com.bd. Bangladeshi, and the local one most of our customers want. The registry asks for documentation and reviews applications by hand, so this is not a same-day extension however quickly you pay. Plan a week.
.au. Australian presence required — an Australian business number or a trade mark, and the name has to relate to it. The registry validates and cancels what does not match.
.nz, .co.nz. Open to anyone, but a New Zealand address is expected on the registrant record and the register is public.
.co.za. South African, with the registrant details published.
.uk, .co.uk. Open to anyone anywhere, and the one whose small print catches Bangladeshi buyers: a registrant outside the UK must name a service address in the UK, the Isle of Man, Jersey or Guernsey. The registry posts everything it sends to that address, so it has to be somewhere post is actually collected — a lawyer, an accountant or a partner company, not a hotel.
What happens if my details do not qualify?
The registration is refused or later cancelled, and you are told which requirement was not met. Where it is fixable — the wrong contact rather than the wrong country — correcting the details and reapplying is usually enough.
Which extension should a Bangladeshi business use?
.com.bd says local unambiguously and is worth the paperwork for a business trading here. A .com is faster, cheaper and understood everywhere. Plenty of companies hold both and point one at the other — forwarding covers how.
